[Aurora-sparc-user] current Aurora releases

Hi everyone, first time I've posted for a long time: my sparcs have mostly been in openbsd/solaris land for a good while.
My U60 has been mostly running the latest bleeding edge versions of Aurora since way back, and yesterday I put the 2.99 release back on it to see how things are going. As ever I started looking through the repos for the Corona tree to upgrade, only to find my yum confs already pointed at the 'developer' tree and not the 2.99 tree. Confusing. There are scratch, update, developer, corona and rawhide sections all available on the mirrors (some of which are still not even remotely synced, as usual) - even I'm confused, and I've been doing this for years. Switching on the rawhide repos (which would be my preference, the absolute latest and most broken stuff is what I like to tinker with!) the upgrade failed with lots of missing dependencies.
Now, this isn't a major problem as I've done this many, many times before and if I just sit down for a bit I'll work it out myself, BUT:
a: Isn't this going to be a bit confusing for new users fresh to either their sparcs and/or fedora? I know that if it wasn't for the fact I knew what I was doing I would have said "forget this, off to debian.org for me"...
b: I know that Spot et al work flat out on a fantastic project and as ever are pushing the newer releases as fast as they can, but aren't the Aurora releases a bit chaotic at the moment? I mean, even more than usual? It's a mess out there on the mirrors.
What is everyone else doing who likes to shadow the latest and greatest? Any yum.confs and recommended upgrade paths from the base 2.99 install to rawhide that anyone would like to share?
Minor gripes aside, it's good to be back with Aurora linux - great to see that the sparc spin of Core 6 is pretty much done as well. Great job everyone!
Cheers,
Mat @ London
