Thanks a lot!
The IDE issue seems resolved. But I've made the following observations
during the install:
- The code for scanning the partitions scans hda[abcd][1-9], AND
hd[abcd][1-9]p[0-9], with the result of having multiple partitions with
the same label. Modifying fstab to just use a plain /dev/hda[n] for
filesystems and swap fixes that.
- I have 2 discs, one as master on the primary ide, one as master on the
secondary ide. After running linux, and returning to the 'ok' prompt,
the secondary ide is missing (even probe-ide returns 'no secondary
ide..' or a similar message). Reset won't fix that, only power-off,
power-on. Then I can boot linux again with 'boot disk2' (solaris is on
disk0).
- The Creator3D graphic card works ok, but seems quite slow. I thought that it should be quite a fast card...
check to see if theres an X11 driver that provides at least 2D accelleration for it. there might not be as nobody released specs for a lot of the sun, ibm rs6000, and hp parisc graphics cards.

Thanks for the good work. I love linux to run on non-intel hardware!
Regards,
Karel.
