Spot,

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately that means I'm going to have to
try to struggle to get an old version of Gentoo on my SS20.  Debian
Etch has the same ESP problem, as does Ubuntu.  Next stop is *BSD :-(.
 I have freedom issues with that, but that's off-topic.
