My ultra1 was rock solid under 2.0 for well over a year - you're not
using X, are you? X is going to be very slow on a 167mhz cpu no matter
how you look at it.

Anything in the logs? Does it always hang? I guess not, if you know that
it runs slow you must have booted it successfully at least once. Did you
choose the standard partitioning or manually create something a bit
non-standard? Personally, I'd disable swap in /etc/fstab and manually
set it up with swapon once booted to do a bit more poking around. Might
be worth running the full diagnostics from the OBP as well while you're
at it.
