I have an ultra 1 that has been running aurora since 0.4 and alternately
served as mail/web/dns server and a test machine for shadowing the
latest testing releases of aurora. Obviously it's not very fast as a
workstation but makes a great low use server - it has been running 2.6
kernels since the first ones were released by Spot and a mix of the
latest 2.0 and corona trees - X works fine for me (creator3D card). I've
not tried any fresh installs of recent builds as it has been upgraded
piecemeal from 1.0 or 1.92 over the years so have no experience of the
problems you describe. Unfortunately I broke it on an ill-advised
drunken late night hacking session a couple of months back and haven't
got round to turning it back on and fixing it yet. I'll try to crawl
around the back of the stack, find all the leads and power it back on to
see if I can find anything that might help you out.
Cheers,
