Boot the system to single user: (at the silo prompt, hit tab to see the
options, then type the one you want and append a 1, like this:
silo: linux 1
That should boot it to single user, well before these items kick in. If
ntsysv is installed, run it, and disable cpuspeed (this may be locking
you up, not the firewall) and ip6tables/iptables. If ntsysv isn't there,
use chkconfig to disable these services. Then reboot normally.
