It seems the T1 100 I thought I had is actually a T1 200, and seems a rather
better spec that the 105's.
T105's:
Netra t1 (UltraSPARC-IIi 440MHz), No Keyboard
OpenBoot 3.10.24 ME, 256 MB memory installed, Serial #11722863.
T1 200:
Netra T1 200 (UltraSPARC-IIe 500MHz), No Keyboard
OpenBoot 4.0, 2048 MB memory installed, Serial #50673442.
So I'm going to keep the T1 200 and use that as my experimental machine at
home. Having trouble getting 2.98 on it though. In order to get the FTP
install to work I have to disable IPv6 otherwise the installer crashes with
this when trying to gather IP information....
loader received SIGSEGV! Backtrace:
install exited abnormally [1/1]
sending termination signals...done
sending kill signals...done
disabling swap...
unmounting filesystems...
/proc done
/dev/pts done
/sys done
/tmp/ramfs done
you may safely reboot your system
Install goes well after disabling IPv6, then at the end when I reboot it
always hangs at:
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
Entering non-interactive startup
Starting background readahead: [ OK ]
Checking for hardware changes [ OK ]
Starting cpuspeed: [ OK ]
Applying ip6tables firewall rules:
The 2.0 install used to do the same but I got round it by choosing not to
install the firewall, seems I don't have that luxury with 2.98. :'( If
anyone has any suggestions can they make them as detailed as possible
bearing in mind I have very little Linux knowledge, although I am
comfortable using vi and can navigate the filesystem.
