[Aurora-sparc-user] J2sdk 1.4.2

I asked this same question a while back and never did figure it out.
Because you can't build the jdk from source, you have to rely on one of
the binary distriubtions from sun. For a SPARC box, this means trying to
get the Solaris jdk binary to run on Aurora.

There is a kernel module, solaris.ko that you can modprobe/insmod that
supposedly will give you solaris binary compatibility and will allow you
to run solaris binaries on SPARC linux. You next have to build a
mini-solaris system beneath /usr/gnemul/solaris with ./lib directories
containing all the requistite libraries from a real-live solaris
installation.

This is where I got stopped; I don't have any solaris left anywhere, and
I don't know anybody who can give me a shell on a solaris box for the
purpose of tar.gzing those libraries off and sending them to my Aurora box.

Google searches to try: gnemul, solaris binary compatibility

You can also try the Apache Harmony project, which supposedly has built
an open source java run time that is capable of driving tomcat. I
couldn't get this to build (no SPARC binary release from Harmony, either).

Good luck! I'd be interested in knowing how far you get.
