Just to document my resolution to this...
#lspci
0001:00:02.0 Unknown mass storage controller: Triones Technologies, Inc.
HPT366/368/370/370A/372 (rev 04) #
DL-  kernel-2.6.13-1.1603sp13.src.rpm
#
Compile kernel with:
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_HPT366=y

make O=/usr/src/kernel gconfig;make O=/usr/src/kernel make; \ make
O=/usr/src/kernel module; make O=/usr/src/kernel module_install

cp /usr/src/kernel/vmlinux /boot
cp /usr/src/kernel/System.map /boot/vmlinux.System.map mkinitrd
/boot/vmlinux.img 2.6.13

Edit /etc/silo.conf (with new image)

image=/vmlinux
        label=ide
        read-only
        initrd=/vmlinux.img
        root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
        append="rhgb quiet"

Reboot.
ls /dev/hd*

Mounted new hd device!

Looks good.

I had the ide configured and installed however it didn't have the block
device information compiled for this controller.

Is anybody keeping track of who uses Aurora? I'll add my name.
Sorry if I bothered anybody with this newbie question ;)

BTW: I mounted this ide hard drive in the spare floppy port On the Ultra
60... I picked up the ide controller from frys for $10. Easy way to add
scratch space on the ultra 60...

Thanks,
TimC
